The Racine Police Department Training Unit is responsible for the recruitment and hiring process, development, and implementation of department in-service and other specialized training, and the field training program. The training unit consists of a Lieutenant, Sergeant, and officer. Together, this unit works to provide state-of-the-art training with a VirTra V180 Simulator, DAAT (Defense and Arrest Tactics) training room, and some of the best instruction in the region in our updated classrooms. 

As a new officer, you will receive the most up-to-date Law Enforcement training which includes:

  • Virtual Scenario Based Training
  • Gracie Survival Tactics (GST)
  • Taser
  • De-Escalation
  • Firearms
  • Active Shooter Training
  • In addition to all state required training

You can know that, prior to heading out for your first day on patrol, the training and equipment that you have received will have prepared you for the challenge and excitement that you’re about to face.
