What I’m Offering

Police Chief Robinson, RacineI wanted to take just a few minutes to say hello to you and thank you for your interest in a career in law enforcement in general and in the Racine Police Department in particular. If you choose to become a member of the Racine Police Department, you will be trained in a number of disciplines, the most important of which is community and problem oriented policing.

I won’t tell you that you will be in car chases everyday, swinging from helicopters or breaking in windows to rescue hostages. What you will be doing is responding to incidents where it may be the worst day of someone’s life or they may have simply been in a car accident and, for the first time in their lives, they need police services.

What I am offering is the opportunity for you to use intelligence, empathy, creative problem solving, and a chance to make a small difference in someone’s life on a daily basis by how you respond to a human being in need.

What I am offering you is the opportunity to use your life experiences and the training that we provide to improve the quality of someone’s life. I am asking you to join us and be the change you want to see in law enforcement.

Chief Maurice A. Robinson
